Cooking with Ground Red Meat

Cooking Tips & Tricks

  • Ground beef or pork has a higher fat content than chicken.
  • Use the steamer insert in the 4qt. saucepan to remove the oil as it cooks and then use it in your recipe.
  • Frozen ground meat should cook in about 15 minutes.

Unit: 4 Qt. with Steamer Insert

Instructions

Add 2” water into the 4qt and turn on medium-high heat. Place Steamer insert within the 4qt.

Rotate the valve on the lid to the open position. Place the meat into the steamer and cook on medium-high heat until done. If the whistle activates continually, crack the lid open partially.

Season the meat after it has finished cooking. The steam will help dissolve the seasoning.
